The next great Department of Theatre production hits William's Theatre in the Gilmore Complex on Friday (October 26). Spring Awakening tells the story of rebellious 19th century teenagers on their journey from adolescence to adulthood—a "powerful celebration of self-discovery in oppressive times."
WMU Theatre students have the opportunity to sharpen their performance skills on a new, contemporary sensation—Spring Awakening is an eight-time Tony Award-winning musical, score written by Duncan Sheik. It has been described as "the most explosive new musical since rent" (Michael Sommers, The Star Ledger).
The show does contain mature themes, sexual situations, and strong language, so leave the kids at home for this one.
Free cabaret performances will follow select show dates.
