There are many opportunities to maintain a lifelong relationship with Western Michigan University, including volunteering.
Alumni Admissions Ambassadors
The Alumni Admissions Ambassadors
program connects alumni with high
school seniors who have been admitted to WMU. Alumni volunteers send
congratulatory postcards, which the Office of Development & Alumni Relations will provide, to these
students along with a short message encouraging them to enroll at WMU.
The Mentor Program gives WMU alumni the opportunity to connect with
current WMU students to discuss professional development and career-related
issues. To learn how to become an alumni mentor, please join us on LinkedIn
Young Alumni Mentor Program (YAMP)
The WMU Young Alumni Mentor Program
connects current students to recently graduated WMU alumni to interact and build a relationship. The semester-long mentor program would provide students with personal and professional development to further their Western Michigan University (WMU) experience and enhance their career goals. In addition, the mentor program will be host to another opportunity for WMU alumni to stay connected with WMU and to donate their time to the University. The Future Alumni Support Team (FAST
), a registered student organization, will have a committee of student volunteers to assist in the growth and development of this program.
Bronco Legislative Network
The Bronco Legislative Network
is composed of WMU alumni, students, parents,
and friends who write letters, make telephone calls, or personally
visit Michigan legislators, voicing their concern for equitable state
funding for our University.
