Kalamazoo is home to Western Michigan University's main campus and is located midway between Chicago and Detroit, 140 miles from each, 2 and a half hours of driving time on Interstate 94. Kalamazoo offers commercial transportation by major airline, train, and bus.
WMU has regional centers in Battle Creek, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Muskegon, and Benton Harbor/St. Joseph. The WMU College of Aviation is located at the W. K. Kellogg Airport in Battle Creek.
